Description

An entire redesign of a one-bedroom shell-and-core apartment in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The use of luxe materials, rich colour palettes and modern elements helps create a calm and inviting environment, maximising space and improving how you function through everyday activities.

Challenge

  • The apartment was handed in shell and core condition, no flooring, no lighting and no spatial definition.
  • The apartment had a compact floor plan which called for very well-defined ‘zones’, as well as efficient storage solutions.
  • The client requested a high-end feel design without overcrowding the interior.
  • The interior space also lacked natural warmth and character, and therefore required a total visual overhaul.
  • The client required a comprehensive design package, including layout planning, concept development, materials, furnishings, lighting and overall styling.

Solution

  • We designed a full interior architecture and design scheme, starting from a clear zoning of the open-plan layout.
  • Warm tones, wood textures, and layered finishes were used to develop depth and sophistication.
  • We designed a custom kitchen with integrated lighting, a feature stone splash-back a versatile breakfast bar. 
  • Very simple wall panels and distinctive lighting were integrated into the living area to create a more sophisticated area.
  • In the bedroom, we created a calm atmosphere using soft greys, textured fabrics, and full-height mirrored wardrobes to make the room appear larger. 
  • To maintain a light, airy and harmonious design within the apartment while increasing a sense of overall wellness and positive energy flow, we selected furniture and decorative items that reflect those qualities.
  • Our complete design package included visual representations, material specifications, and directions for implementation.
