Located in quiet neightbourhood in St Albnas, North London, this three bedroom detached house is a perfect place for a young couple like my clients. However, the current design was rather dated, the rooms layout wasn’t optimized, so we decided to rive a house a proper re-vamp. The idea was not to create an interior that is a mixture of classic and contemporary, giving it a timeless feel for many years ahead.
My clients preferred to keep some of the existing furniture, so I had to design the space accordingly, combining classic and modern felt challenging as the space needs to feel cohesive, so there has to be a perfect balance the two styles.
There was a lack of natural light in the living room that makes the space look quite dull.
We have to come up with the smart storage solution for several rooms that looks neat, modern and is very practical.
We selected a perfect colour scheme of earthy subtle tones from Farrow and Ball; added elegant wall moulding to the living room and guest bedroom that created the required classic look and adds the sophisticated touch. We opted for the brass fittings to bring the timeless feel and added natural material like oak to create the warm and welcoming look to the space. We changed the lighting room to make the space more illuminated and bright. Overall, the result is a very homely space that is not only beautiful, but also well organized and practical.
